I really enjoyed my tour of Indiana this week. It seems like there is a lot of art going on there, lots of young artists, and lots of support for the arts. I have a theory that I’m cooking up about arts in the Midwest. When it’s fully baked, I’ll share it with you. Until then, enjoy Indiana, friends! (Don’t forget that you can click on the images and visit the artists’ websites – it’s nice to see their entire body of work).

Favorites, anyone?
After two weeks of mosaics with kids. . .. the toaster! (The necklace is also beautiful )
Sara Tabbert Isn’t the toaster brilliant? Do you think she made it over an actual toaster, or used some other kind of frame?
I don’t know. . . but I have this fantasy of doing a project with students where we mosaic a junked car. . .
I like all of these this week. Abstract and Circle Centre probably my favourites. Although Necklace and Creed aren’t far behind. I’ll have to show Hippie Child that toaster when she wakes up she’ll love that. Have a great weekend.

You know, there isn’t a one I didn’t like or that didn’t strike me in some way here. I’m not a huge fan of mosaics (I know, I know), but even that was lovely. My dad is an abstract artists, so that one really struck me, and the bull! and the deco panel! I love this series.

Decaying Consciousness by Joseph Crone grabbed my attention. The lighting effects are as amazing as they are eerie. Hard to believe this is a drawing. Beautiful and horrible at once. I wonder what those men are up too. Like I always like to say, “Indiana wants me. Lord, I can’t go back there,” and yet I always do. Looking forward to next week.
Thank you for featuring my necklace. I’m honored to have my work included alongside such talented Indiana artists.
Oh these are all great! What gorgeous works. Hard to decide… Love all of the paintings, and the art deco piece.
